“There is no ‘we’ in summer. Only ‘u’ and ‘me’.” — Unknown

July was another hot one in Lambertville. We avoided dense rains that passed north of town and heavily flooded parts of northern New Jersey and New York. Air quality was poor for a few days due to Canadian wildfires. However, none of that stopped Lambertville from thriving and surviving for another month.

City officials are shooting for an October remediation, but expectations are that the park won’t be back in service until the end of the year. Nobody has an exact date, but the city is working on it, and steady progress is being made.

On July 11th, the New Hope Chamber of Commerce sponsored its monthly summer fireworks and drone show over the Delaware River. A large crowd watched from the Lambertville Station parking lot. People were also on the bridge and on the New Hope side. There are only two more fireworks nights scheduled for the rest of the year. Summer is passing quickly, enjoy it!

Lambertstock Rocked

The annual Lambertstock summer concert happened in Ely Field on July 12th, and featured music by The Inflexibles and All Winter Long. It was a hot day, so the audience relaxed under the shade of the trees at the edge of the grass.

Local spiders have moved back into their homes after the renovation of the Lambertville-New Hope Bridge. The new LED runway lights in the railings along the bridge’s walkway attract bugs of all kinds, and the spiders are drinking it up.

17-21 Union Street

It didn’t take long for 17-21 S. Union Street to sell. With an $850,000 price tag, the property was clearly targeted at developers. Three townhomes could easily fit on the property, but it’s too early to know what the new owner plans to do.

Meet the New Townhomes

Two new townhomes are nearing completion at 17 Wilson Street. Both are under contract. Townhome #1 listed for $975,000 and #2 listed for $995,000. This style of housing is the new norm for Lambertville due to flood zone requirements.

The Lambertville Library is Back

The Lambertville Library reopened on July 28th after having been closed for several months due to renovations. The building’s exterior has been painted. Inside has new carpets, freshly painted walls, a new mural in the kid’s room, and an improved ambiance that makes meeting, reading, and learning even better.
